“When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributed and resting on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” – Acts 2:1-4
The period after the Lord’s Resurrection must have been a difficult one to understand at first for the Apostles and Disciples of our Lord. Our Lord’s words were still veiled in great mystery. What did He mean when He said, But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you? Our Lord’s promise is fulfilled at Pentecost when …a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire… Consider moments which were difficult to understand, or a mission that seemed impossible. Seek the Holy Spirit and implore the Apostles and our Lady to teach you to accept the gifts of the Holy Spirit fruitfully, for nothing impossible with God (Luke 1:37)
